Bike & Hike to Lake Constance

The Lake Constance Trail is only 4 miles round-trip from the old Dosewallips Road, with 3,300 feet of elevation gain in those 2 miles to the lake. The Dosewallips Road washout adds an extra 9 miles roundtrip, so let's mountain bike up to the trailhead, lock up the bikes & helmets and start climbing, I mean hiking!

Total mileage: 13 miles

Total elevation gain: 4200'

Bring the ten essentials (incl a BIG lunch and hot beverage) and dress in layers. We'll more than likely find snow; so bring microspikes and trekking poles or ice ax, it may be icy near the top. Bring bike helmet & lock.

This is a strenuous hike and hands will be needed for balance, so you might want gloves that can get dirty!

Map: Green Trails #168

Meet at East side of Hood Canal Bridge P & R at 0700. Hopefully enough people can help haul bikes. Please chip-in for driver's gas money.

Forecast of 90% rain cancels, or may slide to Sunday the 15th

HI Jeff, still GO! I've been looking at that ... freezing level looks to be 5600' on Fri night. Don't really want to carry snowshoes, but I don't think we'll need them either.
