Re: [knit2togLouisville] Hey Everyone!

Hi,
I joined the Meetup some time ago and have not been able to attend a meet up because sessions always fell on the same day that I have an evening meeting obligation.  I live in the Highlands so Frankfort Ave is an ok location for me.  It was just the dates of the month that usually conflict with my schedule. (I often read the email and thought if it were only a week earlier or a week later, I could go.  It never occurred to me to ask if we could have a another day added... :-)  )  Last winter Quills Coffee Shop was inviting people interesting in knitting, learning to knit to their location on Baxter.  It might be cool to have meet ups there since the owner was trying to encourage knitters to hang out there.  Last time I was there, they had lots of space up stairs for people to sit...
In terms of location, I prefer either the Highlands or an area close by (like Crescent Hill or St. Matthews).
Thanks for doing this,
Diane

Along with the paying dues for Meetup, I would be willing to chip in. I have participated in another group that was started before they began charging and our organizer had been paying it. We told her to stop and when it was due everyone chipped in one or two meetings beforehand until we met the fee.

Hi Lindsey!

I often can't attend the meetups, because of my schedule with my children, but if we had them more frequently I'm sure I'd be able to be there sometimes.

Won't be able to make it this Thursday, but I hope to make it in the near future.

Swaps are a blast!  I already participate in a bunch of them through a site called "Knitter's Paradise", so I think this would be a great idea.

Thank you for stepping up.

Hi guys! I was checking out the meetup website and saw that the group needed an organizer. I'm sure Tessa got tired of having to pay all the meetup dues herself, so I thought I would help out! Feel free to add your own meetups- it looks like there is some interest in having more than 2/month, since people can't always make the ones we have. So, there is one scheduled for this Thursday, Aug 16. We're going to change it up and try Heine Bros in Westport Village. I also wanted to gauge interest for a yarn swap. Sound like fun to anybody? Let me know if you have any additional ideas or suggestions for how to make the group better! Lindsey
