Southeast Michigan Knitting Group Pages

Meet, mingle and trade yarns with other knitters, crocheters, spinners, felters and weavers! Our group has a wonderful mix of ages, talent and experience. We have fun exchanging tips, techniques, and ideas with each other at our events while striving to keep our MeetUps fun and casual – why should there be stress when we’re doing something we all love!

In addition to our regular MeetUps, occasionally we offer other types of events such as educational MeetUps, social get togethers, a holiday gift exchange, etc.

For those who want to learn how: Although we do not hold regular classes or lessons, we can surely help you get started with the basics. It is always best to take a class from a Local Yarn Shop in order to build on your knit or crochet foundation.

Anyone interested, including newbies, is welcome regardless of skill level! We look forward to seeing you soon, with a great looking project on your needles and hooks!

***Please note that after you become a member, be sure to check out the "Photos" on the Meetup website by clicking the link at the top. You will find a number of photo albums with lots of project inspiration!

Happy Knitting!

"1 out of 3 women knows how to knit or crochet. The number of women who do these crafts increased from 34.7 million in 1994 to 38 million in 2000.

Since 1998, there has been a 400 percent increase in the number of women under 35 years old who crochet and knit.

Numbers are up in all demographics. Since 1998, there has been a 13 percent increase among women 35 to 44 years old; 18 percent among women 45 to 54 years old; and 10 percent among 55-to-64-year-olds." - The Craft Yarn Council of America
