Subj: [Vegetarian Society of East TN] Veg Demo & Potluck Sun, Oct 2nd at 6 pm

Our board meeting is at 5 pm.

Please join us on Sunday night, October 2nd at 6 pm for our monthly Vegetarian Class and Potluck Supper.

Please welcome Dr. Mary Roberson, founder of the Ayurveda Center in Oak Ridge.  This is her first time conducting a class for VSET.  Dr. Roberson is a Clinical Psychologist, a licensed massage therapist, and has studied Ayurveda since 1985.  She specializes in a holistic approach (mind, body, spirit) that integrates a blend of Western psychotherapy methods and the ancient science of Ayurveda (natural medicine from India which includes breathing practices, meditation, diet and lifestyle changes, i.e. “food is medicine.”).  Mary plans to prepare a stir-fry with her seasonal masala (blend of spices) for the fall season and how it can enhance digestion and detoxify the body.

If anyone wishes to know more about the Ayurveda Center of Oak Ridge, here is the website:

We will begin at 6 p.m. at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike in Knoxville. We will share a vegetarian/vegan potluck supper.  Please bring a vegetarian/vegan dish to share.

There will be a small collection of money to help offset the room rental.  Cost is $2 for members and $3 for guests.
