If you are familiar with Korean historical dramas, I’m sure you’ve all heard about “대장금”, “성균관스캔들”, “정도전”, “허준”. Beautiful old houses allow us to immerse in the stories and also to discover the Korean history. These historical places are not only used as a set for dramas/movies but it is also opened to the public who wish to experience the unique Korean traditional mood. Thanks to the governmental support, hanok-traditional Korean houses-has been recently open for visitors. Tourists from all around the world visit old houses to experience authentic Korean culture and food. People come to appreciate the history and to take a look into the nature-friendly traditional Korean living style.
Surrounded by mountain, it boasts a magnificent view. With pine-scented breeze, you will be able to relax and be relieved from the hustle and bustle city life.
If you are lucky, you can see an ancestor-worshipping ritual that is held 10 times a year.
At night, you will rest in a historic hotel, a room with a past. You will lay your head on rice-husk pillow and sleep on thin mats under quilted covers.
