Roastmasters is a Toastmasters public speaking group of fluent, near-fluent and native English speakers. We are a mix of foreign business people, professionals, educators, artists, international students and friends.
Our club is unique. Here's how:
• Mixing business with pleasure
Our meetings happen at night, in a pub, with drinks - yet we are serious about getting better at public speaking, leadership and personal development.
• Constructive Evaluations
Our club has produced more world-class speakers than any other Toastmasters club in Korea, because of what Roastmasters does different. Our evaluations are designed to turn your weaknesses into strengths, not to make you feel warm and fuzzy.
• Sensitive Issues
We practice tackling sensitive issues. No subject is off-the-table, as long as it's handled with respect. Our members don't come to Roastmasters to get better at English. We attend to become the best, most effective, most persuasive and most dynamic public speakers we can be.
Our meeting environment is conducive to public speaking in the real-world, which includes being interrupted. We allow speakers to simulate this environment, at their discretion, during their prepared speeches. We call it 'heckling.' This is excellent training for creating a professional, polished speech. It's also great practice for dealing with any type of interruption, should you ever need to.
We have a great time while getting better at being ourselves. We laugh and cheers a lot. And when someone leaves, we Roast 'em :)
