This group is for anyone who is curious about Buddhism and meditation, and specifically the Tibetan Buddhist and Shambhala teachings brought to the west by Ven. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and continued by his successor, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Shambhala Buddhism is very focused on compassion and acceptance of ourselves and others. It is the Shambhala view that every human being has a fundamental nature of goodness, warmth and intelligence. This nature can be cultivated through meditation, following ancient principles, and it can be further developed in daily life, so that it radiates out to family, friends, community and society. In our group we mainly practice meditation (both sitting and walking) along with some chanting and we read and discuss Buddhist books. Come along and try it out!
