Circulation II: Exhibition Opening Reception with Artist Seung Lee

Join us at the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. for the opening of Circulation II, an exhibition of contemporary visual and installation works by Seung Lee, Korean American artist and Director of Fine Arts at Long Island University.

SEPARATE RSVP REQUIRED VIA THE KCC WEBSITE HERE!

Seung Lee’s installation work utilizes detritus and materials discovered on the street in everyday life, which are reassembled to evoke a sense of the past, present, and future. The artist strives to communicate about the changing nature of today’s society and the environment, which is often overlooked. This reinvention of discarded objects is meant to provide an opportunity to share in a new vision of the environment and society. Lee’s visual art also encourages viewers to reevaluate views of the natural world through macroscopic depictions of plants and organic structures, contrasted and yet complimentary with repurposed and evolving objects of urban refuse.

The opening reception event will include a talk by the artist and a light Korean dinner reception. Admission is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is required to attend, via www.KoreaCultureDC.org.

Circulation II will remain on display through April 23 (M-F, 9 am – noon and 1:30 – 5:30 pm).
