Hi everyone, please consider joining us at the Korean Embassy for this event (and some Korean lunch!)...

The Light of Korea:
Selected Works from the 2009 Nationwide Korean American Art Contest
Opening Reception: Thursday, August 13, 12:30 - 2 pm
Exhibition Dates: August 13-26 (open weekday business hours)

This exhibition at the Korean Embassy's KORUS House features more than 40 works of visual art from Korean and Korean American artists living in the United States that have been selected for recognition in the third Nationwide Korean American Art Contest. Rooted in Korean culture with a global perspective, the exhibit touches on themes of tradition, memory, and modernity as experienced by people of Korean heritage living abroad. Other ideas depicted in this diverse collection of paintings and drawings that explore the psyche of Korean Americans include the reunification of the Korean Peninsula, the Korean people, environmental preservation, Hangul (the Korean writing system), and traditional Korean beauty.

For more information about the exhibit and images of selected artwork, visit our online article at: http://www.dynami....
