    What is Kriya Yoga?

Kriya Yoga is the same practice discussed in the book, Autobiography of a Yogi. The techniques consist mainly of breath-control (pranayama), along with specific chants and few bodily postures. Kriya Yoga clears toxins from the body and evolves the practitioner to higher states of awareness, culminating in self-realization. This practice does not belong to any particular religion or sect, and therefore complements all paths of life.

    Where did Kriya Yoga originate?

Kriya Yoga was shrouded in secrecy for millennia. In 1861, Lahiri Mahasaya - who was a married householder with children - began teaching Kriya Yoga to the public. He had received the technique from his Guru, an ancient yogi known by the name Mahavatar Babaji.

Lahiri Mahasaya was an example to the world that anyone can practice Kriya Yoga and achieve heightened spiritual states while continuing to work and have family. He became a hive for sincere seekers and initiated thousands of people into Kriya Yoga without regard to gender, caste or religion. Kriya Yoga continues to be given in an unbroken link of spiritual masters to this day, including by Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath.

    Who is Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath?

Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath, or "Gurunath", is a living Kriya Yoga master, whom at early ages of childhood could be seen in meditative posture fully engrossed within. After his schooling while still a young adult, he traveled to the Himalayas in search of the mysterious Mahavatar Babaji. At that time he was practicing upwards of 12 hours of Kriya Yoga mostly in night. He met many saints on his adventure, including being in association with two advanced Kriya Yoga masters, Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Swami Satyananda Giri, both disciples of Swami Sri Yukteswar (whom was the disciple of the above mentioned Lahiri Mahasaya).

His trip culminated in his meeting with the immortal yogi, Mahavatar Babaji. He was transformed in his presence, and awakened to deeper states of enlightenment. Babaji appointed him to spread Kriya Yoga throughout the world, and he has been doing so ever since. Yogiraj has addressed the United Nations and several religious organizations with his message of Earth Peace through Self Peace - Earth peace can only be achieved once every person develops peace within themselves. Disharmony is the root of all problems, and inner peace, the solution of all solutions.

Yogiraj is helping lay the foundation for what must and will be the framework of the world in order for humanity to sustain itself. We are blessed to have such a visionary, achieved soul available to us in the modern age. Read more about Yogiraj and events.
