Come join me for a trip with a bit more adventure and uncertainty.

Shoulder season is an awesome time to spend in the back-country. The noises of summer drift off to a cool calm and the smell of leaves fill the air.

November weather is highly variable. For some, that is a stressful but for others (like me) it is a time to practice observation and adaptation. Days can be cool or cold, dry or wet, with grown covered in snow or mud or crunchy leaves. No matter what, it is something that stimulates.

The plan is to hike along an ATV trail in Gibson River PP along the Gibson River and camp in the wild when we feel like stopping. Likely the distance will be less than 10Km. This will be more of a “wild” trip, I will bring a tarp and cook on a fire.

Participants should be prepared to practice low-impact camping as we will not be using a developed campsite. Given the shoulder season conditions, hypothermia not an abstract concern and you should have experience handling cold and wet conditions.

Please fill out the following spreadsheet with your details so I can help arrange logistics.

I will send out a message on Nov 23rd with the trip logistics. Please reply to confirm you received this message as sometimes MeetUp notifications fail. If you have not seen it by Monday the 24th get in touch with me. I will assume anyone who has not replied to me by the 26th is not coming.
