Part of the Art Deco Society's Cocktails in Historic Places®
This time, in a French bistro/ bar!
PS: It is not required we have dinner, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, bites are more than enough at the bar area, we will be mingling, and if desired, chatting some in French (maybe with the owners as well)!
Please read on......

ATTIRE: Art Deco Society always encourages to dress up in period type, but it is not a requirement. But it sure makes it more fun when we dress in period or vintage! What do they mean by period/vintage? Well--- the way I look at it, if you can put on "ONE" little statement or elegant piece of clothing or accessory-- already you are half way there.
What do I mean by elegant something? One of these items

  • Cute vintage-style Hat
  • Some kind of head adornment, like bedazzled head band, head carf, something that has some flowers on it?
  • A long string of pearls
  • Elegant or artsy scarf around your neck
  • OR An entire Retro outfit!

You can also look up vintage 1920s- 1940s ideas online to get some ideas. Right now, even Marshall's and Ross are selling fascinators and retro style hats!

"Join us for our next Cocktails in Historic Places® when the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles gathers at the Spring Arcade Building—a 1924 architectural jewel once designed as a grand pedestrian passage for the city’s financial elite.
Originally conceived as a place to move, meet, and be seen, the arcade comes alive once more as we gather beneath its vaulted corridors—this time with cocktails in hand. In partnership with Garçons de Café, we channel the spirit of a European café set within the rhythm of Downtown Los Angeles. Many participants dress in cocktail or vintage attire a these no-host get togethers, but it is not required."

As always, Cocktails in Historic Places® invites you to step inside the past—not as a spectator, but as part of the living scene.
We don’t just visit history—we drink in it.
We look forward to conversations about historic Los Angeles, vintage clothing and cars, home restorations and all things Jazz Age!
About the Food & Beverage:
Garçons de Café is well-known for its extensive wine list representing curated selections from around the world. In an adjoining space next door is l’Appart, a French Bistro serving duck, escargot, Beef Bourguignon, pizzas and more under the direction of Chef Thierry Babet. The restaurant does take reservations and food is also served in the bar..
What You Should Know:
This gathering is free to attend, but you are on the hook for food and beverage you wish to consume.
Vintage or vintage-inspired attire preferred, but not required. Festive attire is encouraged—this is an evening for elegance, atmosphere, and connection.
About Cocktails in Historic Places®
Traditionally, the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles members gather once a month in an historic building with a bar, to socialize and revel in the beauty of historic architecture. It is our duty to patronize businesses in historic buildings! We welcome interested persons to join us. This no-host cocktail gathering is open to members and non-members alike, and no reservations are required to attend, but we do encourage dinner reservations if the establishment will make them.
