Four Saturday Mornings, Starting June 16th- 9-11:30 am (10 hours)
Come learn the what, why, and how about sustainable landscaping.
What? Design and plan a landscape that provides for your needs while nurturing the dynamic cycles of nature Why? Save money, improve family, home, and community heath, and reconnect with nature How? Assess your current situation and the options available and develop an informed plan and schedule The State of California trained a number of local Master Gardeners to help their communities adopt more sustainable landscapes. Experts from UC Davis, UC Riverside and several other research centers taught a series of classes over a weekend at the Huntington Gardens. This series of workshops will summarize this information and provide hands on activities around nurturing soil, using water wisely, and planting / tending trees, edibles, and drought tolerant plants. Each participant will be encouraged to construct a meaningful plan to migrate to a more sustainable landscape and will have opportunities to get feedback on the plan.
The $99 fee includes materials and is a donation to the garden.
