Hi Sally,
I just joined the other group you created "What To Cook" and I don't know how to post a questionon the message board. Can you tell me how to do this?

Thanks!

Subject: [cooking-415] Free Tuna Products - Wow, what a generous offer from a member!
Date: Wed, 26 Mar[masked]:49:49 -0400

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for your support, guidance, advice, comments, suggestions, and everyday I feel grateful that I'm surrounded with good people.

Wanna know something really nice?wink

One of our members, Nexon, had contacted me about his seafood products. He offered to give away free samples (!) and I have been communicating with him about the best way to accept his generous offer. Then I got this idea of French cooking classes, and wanted to use his tuna and salmon products as one of the ingredients there.

But today we had a very exciting discussion on time-saving ideas and tips, so I created a new group, but decided to ask him to give samples to members interested instead of waiting for the next cooking class meetup. I think they are great products for everybody, and especially for a busy cook like Mom.

So if you're interested in receiving free samples, please let me know!

I'll share the communications I've had with him for your reference. You can directly contact him, too. Check out his website, too.

Happy eating!

Sally

3/4/08 Nexon:

"Hi Sally,

Would you be interested in offering free tuna and salmon
products at your next meetup session? My name is Nexon, writing
from SAFCOL, a South Australian seafood company. The products
are pre-seasoned gourmet tuna and salmon products made from all
natural ingredients. They're ready to eat but also come with
gourmet recipes, which I can also provide.

I'm spreading the word and can provide free samples to keep
and products to use for cooking purposes.
Let me know if you'd be interested!

Thank you."

3/11/08 Me:

"Dear Nexon,

Thank you so much for your message, and please forgive me for such a late reply.

Yes, I would love to have the samples...As a matter of fact, I just had a nice idea about
French cooking class, and I'm going to discuss more details with this chef, and hopefully
I can announce it soon, and I hope he's OK using your product, but is there any way
I can take a look at it beforehand?"

Nexon 3/12/08:

"Sally,

I'd love to send some samples to you. I can actually provide you samples to prepare at your meeting, if your chef approves, or I can give you products to giveaway as door gifts. I can also do both.

I'll need an address to ship samples to you. In the meantime, take a look at safcolusa.com.

I won't use up your cell minutes but feel free to give me a ring anytime![masked].

Sincerely,
Nexon Sun"

Me 3/14/08:

"Dear Nexon,

Thank you for the generous offer! I'm so happy.
I haven't had a chance to call you yet, but I visited the site. Wow, it looks great!

You can send it to:

But if I could see you in person, I guess it's better that way.
Where are you located? I live in West LA, but my work
requires me to go to many places, even to OC and San Diego..

Have a nice weekend!

Sally"

Nexon 3/17/08:

In the meantime, I will be sending samples to you for your review.

Thanks again for your interest in our products!

Nexon Sun
SAFCOL USA, Inc."

Me 3/19/08:

"Thank you so much and sorry for the late reply..I need to go now so it's brief, but
would you like to host a meetup featuring your product sometime?

Sally"

Nexon 3/19/08:

"Sally,

Samples were shipped out to you today.

My preference would be to just unobtrusively introduce the products to your members. We could also build an entire session around the products, if there are enough participants. I can bring our gourmet chef and make a nice instructional cooking event out of it. When is your next planned meeting?

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Nexon Sun"

Me 3/24/08:

"Dear Nexon,

Thank you so much for sending me the samples!

I tried everything, and they were so good, but my favorites are Mediterranean Style,
Oven dried tomato & basil, and Tomato salsa because they are tasty themselves and
you can enjoy without adding anything else, which I think makes these products of yours
unique, and better than other makers' tuna products.

Lemon & dill and With Spicy Onion are also good, but I think they are more versatile to be
used in many recipes.

Chipotle was also good, but it was a little too strong in spiciness for me...

I'm originally from Japan, and people love tuna can there. They have so many tuna-can cooking recipes, and I would like to give you some recipes, too. Not just tuna casserole is what you can make and because I'm familiar with Japanese cooking, I wanted to use in many Japanese ways. Those lemon & dill and With Spicy onion tuna tasted well with soy sauce too, and I think they have strong potential to be used in many Asian recipes. And as you might aware, there are many members in my group who are busy moms, and for them your products would be a welcome addition to their repertoire for everyday home cooking.

Here's a very simple tuna and rice recipe, but since it's Japanese recipe, they use metric unit..

Drain tuna can (40grams) and put in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon Japanse sake and marinade for 5 minutes. Slice 1 Japanese cucumber thinly and add a pinch of salt and rub to flavor. Cook Japanese rice and add tuna, cucumber, and mix in minced garlic and serve.

Other ideas are:

There are Japanese vegetable mix called "Sansai mix" ...mountain vegetable mix as it's translated, and if you mix tuna and add mentsuyu (Japanese noodle base) they taste really good and you can serve it as is, or top it up on Udon noodle (Japanese noodle dish with soup). They are healthy dish, but addition of tuna protein makes it more nutritional too.

Or you add tomato juice to tuna can and add ketchup and pepper if desired and cook for maybe 5-10 minutes..they top it on a bed or white rice too.

And I'm very curious about learning more about the products and ways to use them in everyday cooking and gourmet cooking.

Let me do some brainstorming for the future meetup ideas using your products, and in the meantime, I thought I could advertise your products and include in a newsletter I just created for the group. Please check it out, and if you don't have problem, I would like to feature your products in the next newsletter. Please give me your feedback. Thank you.

Sally"
