Talk 1: Automated Django Deployments with Chef

Chef is a popular configuration management tool employed by many DevOps engineers to manage clusters of servers. This talk will give a brief introduction to Chef and how to use it to deploy Django applications across many EC2 servers.

About the presenter: Chris Han is a Tech Lead at ZehnerGroup (http://zehnergroup.com), a full service agency with clients such as L.A. Metro, Tennis.com, Premier Meats, and InsideWeddings.com. Day-to-day, he is coding Django applications, writing Chef cookbooks, and architecting and implementing infrastructure on AWS.

Talk 2: Writing Secure Web Applications with Django

As more personal and sensitive information gets entered into and stored on more and more sites, security is more important than ever. This talk will start with an overview of security topics, how Django works to protect you from various attacks, and how not to accidentally defeat those protections. We'll cover https, authentication, CSRF, and XSS.

About the presenter: Keith Bussell is VP of Development at TrueCar, a company with the mission of making the car-buying process simple, fair and fun. He really enjoys building products people want to use, and leveraging technology to make lives simpler and easier.

Talk 3: Code Review Best Practices

Code reviews offer an opportunity for developers to share knowledge, grow over time, and build better software. This talk will offer recommendations for some code review best practices and talk about how to communicate with other developers during the review process.

About the presenter: Kevin London works as a software engineer at Wiredrive (http://wiredrive.com) where he's helping build an API with Django and Django Rest Framework. He previously worked in the film industry and created applications to support post-production and long-term archival.

Parking: There should be plenty of free lot parking available.

Food: Pizza, salad, and drinks will be provided.

Recruiters: I want to welcome recruiters, but I ask that you send me a message before RSVPing. The reasons being:
