Lititz Fire & Ice Festival

It's Fire & Ice time again.  We've done this event about four times now and it's been fun each time.  (If you like freezing yer buns off.)  The standard procedure has been, and will continue this time to be; stroll around Lititz photographing and enjoying the ice sculptures.  Then drop into the Bull's Head for a nip and enjoyable photographic conversations.  That should occupy most, if not all, of the afternoon. Please do not drink and drive.

Since I had to work on Saturday I went on Friday night and got to enjoy the colored lights on the sculptures.

I had a good time on our photo walk today. Thank you guys for making it such a pleasant experience. Blake, you were a superb host. I was impressed with the magic appearance of a table for 14 , on one of the busiest days in Lititz and it may appear like a small thing but I definitely noticed and appreciated how you made sure nobody was left out/forgotten along the way to the dining facility. Technical advice is not the only thing that's appreciated. Thank you.
Ps. Blake and Cathy ( Kathy?), the name you want is Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington 😊. I am curious what brought the subject of the battle of Waterloo on on this tropical afternoon in Lititz 😄

It was very nice to meet you. Blake and I were discussing history and a book I was reading about Waterloo.

What a beautiful day to stroll in Lititz. The ice sculptures were fun, but so were the ducks!

any insider tips of where to park?

    • Blake Z.

I have parked in the park every year. I think I just jinxed myself.

Well, I did, the park was closed off this year. Nonetheless, I found a place on the street, no sweat.

Another great day. The weather was perfect for being outside, and the ice sculptures, as always, an intricate work of art. Thanks Blake foe setting this up.

Crowded pathways, fun and melting sculptures, had lunch in a place that was very conducive for interaction due to seating style and lack of loud background music as found in many places. A fun day overall.

Is it possible to do ice when it is 60 degrees outside?

    • Blake Z.

We once before took pix of melting ice in little rivulets.

If there's no ice just shoot the fire

sorry guys something came up so i will not be able to make it this time.

I wish I could have come. But, alas, this is the peril when working in a retail environment. No "conventional weekend" time. Outings will be almost all NOT be attended unless I get M-F employment.

    Sigh...

If you want to attend the chili cook-off at the high school, you can buy discounted medallions for entry at Stauffer's and Bull's Head, both in Lititz, for a discounted price of $8. At the door tickets are $10.

You nailed it. The fire part is the chili cook-off.

What's the fire part to this event? Is that what the chili cook-off represents? No complaints, just wondering! :)
