5 Quick Things About the Lancaster County Photography Meetup Group

1. Thanks to Dan Berg for 2 Great Canvas Gallery Wrap Sessions!

I would like to thank Dan Berg again for opening up his studio for 2 great sessions this past weekend.? I think we all learned a lot about canvas gallery wraps.?? Everyone was appreciative of Dan sharing his skills with and for showing the group some good ol' fashioned hospitality.? Congrats to Jeff and Glen for walking off with the prized canvases.? Remember to get in touch with Dan for a variety of your high end printing and gallery wrap services.?

2. Flickr Secrets / Assignment: The Red Rule - Thursday, May 6

Join us on our first Thursday of the month meetup as yours truly presents on one of the most popular photo sharing platforms in the world, Flickr.? I'll be going over the history and ins and outs of the site as well as revealing a few of its secrets.? So if you ever wanted to be a flickreeno, now's your chance to get a leg up!? This month's assignment is "The Red Rule."? Essentially, it boils down to, if you see red, shoot it.? If you need any further explanation or inspiration on this month's assignment, check out The Red Rule group on flickr:

3. Minor Changes to the Monthly Assignment

We're changing the rules of the assignment a bit. If you don't find yourself particularly inspired by the topic on any given month, we're giving members the option to submit ANY photograph taken that month for the critique. So now there's no excuses! It's time to jump into the deep end and get wet!

2. NEW for the Thursday Night Meetups: Fifteen Minutes of Fame!

As a new segment to our Thursday night meetings, we're giving a solid 15 minutes to any one member to showcase anything they want. Do you have a great series of shots you want to show off, talk about? Have a new technique you've been working on, and you'd like to share it? Or do you want to just talk about your specific photographic passion? We've got 15 minutes for you! First up, Mike Bolton will be sharing his lightning photography. Want to schedule YOUR 15 minutes for a future meetup? Contact me at [address removed].

1. Light Painting Meetup - Friday May 14th

Fire up your gelled LEDs, flashlights, or any other funky light source you have on hand because we're going to be doing some light painting!? This is going to be a hands on event for everyone, not a demonstration, so bring your camera, tripod, and anything you think would emit some cool light (and is battery powered) during a long exposure. Also, you might want to bring props to light as well!

RSVP for this meetup today!

Till next time, keep shootin'
