New Meetup: Brady's Run Park Off-Leash Play (plus ice cream!)

From: Kerry K.
Sent on: Wednesday, July 21, 2010 1:50 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for The Pittsburgh Large/Giant Breed Dog Meetup Group!

What: Brady's Run Park Off-Leash Play (plus ice cream!)

When: Saturday, August 7,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Brady's Run Park
Bradys Run Rd
Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Bring your large dogs for a play session with other big dogs at the new dog area in Brady's Run Park. This off-leash area for dogs is fairly new -- it opened in spring 2008 -- and has separate areas for large and small dogs (bring both, if you have them!). Bring your leashed dog (and a water bowl, if you prefer to use your own) -- I'll have a cooler filled with soft drinks and cold water, and I'll have jugs of water for the dogs. I'll also have some treats for the dogs and the humans!

We'll let the dogs play for an hour or two, then we'll head down the road for ice cream.

Brady's Run Park , Beaver County's largest park (more than 2,000 acres) features an ice rink, four tennis courts and an indoor walking/jogging track. Other recreational facilities at Bradys Run Park include a ball field complex (one baseball and five softball fields) a horse rink, horseshoe courts, walking trails, a 22-acre lake to fish year round permitting non-motorized boating, and picnic tables and playgrounds at various sites throughout the park. An outdoor activity center features an in-line skating rink, action/skate park, two basketball and four tennis courts. You'll also find a one-mile paved, outdoor walking track.

After the dogs play, and the humans work up a healthy appetite (and probably a good sweat), we can head a couple minutes down the road for ice cream. Bruster's Ice Cream at Riverside Drive & Route 51 features delicious homemade ice cream and waffle cones made fresh on-site daily. Dogs can get their own "doggy cup" of ice cream topped with a doggie biscuit.

Find more activities to do while you're in the area in the Beaver County Visitor's Guide.

Directions to the park.

Once inside the park entrance, proceed through the park on that main road. At the first stop sign, you'll take a RIGHT TURN. Continue until you come to a second stop sign (at which the right turn is instructed to keep moving). Stop, then drive straight ahead. You'll see the dog park area, with plenty of parking, on your left. It's between the horseshoe rings and the banquet hall at the end of the park, under the Rt. 60 bridges. If you need additional directions, call the Beaver County Recreation Department at (724) 846-5600.
