2121 East Craig Road, North Las Vegas, NV
PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW. DO NOT BECOME ONE OF THOSE HIKERS WHO ARE ALWAYS SURPRISED.
We will meet at the Cannery Casino on the third floor for carpooling. Please tell us if you are able to take others in your vehicle. I can only have 10 cars park at the camp site.
Please try to be at the casino early so we can arrange car pulling...or better yet we should make arrangements before meeting at the casino. For those wishing to skip the casino we will meet up at the Indian Reservation store at the Valley of Fire exit by 11:00 am; this will allow everyone to pick up last minute items. From there we will head into the park giving us time to hike before the camp site opens at 3:00 pm. Valle of fire charges $20 camping per vehicle per night (Includes entrance fee). If you do not wish to camp and just join us for the hikes and potluck, you'll just pay entrance fee. Valley of fire charges $12.00 per vehicle to enter the park, Nevada Residence with current ID get $2.00 off per vehicle ($10.00) Please share the cost among the people in the vehicle and also compensate your driver for gas/wear and tear. Your National Park pass is not valid at Valley of Fire. Valley of Fire is a State Park. This camp side offers facilities such as restrooms (one per campsite), water, shaded tables, and grills. Showers are located near by. We will be occupying campsite #3.
Charges/fee for joining us at the camp site is $5 per family. This will help cover the cost of the camp site. We have to be out by 2:00 pm Sunday which means having everything cleaned and packed.
YOu are also welcome to join us for the hikes and pot luck only, if you are not planning in spending the night camping. Just post your comment that you are only joining for the hikes or hikes and pot luck. Just don't forget your chair.
SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your tent with everything you need for a good night sleep. Your camping chair, lunch for after or during the hikes, and a dish to share for the pot-luck dinner. We will start cooking at around 5:00 pm and hoping to have dinner around 7:00 pm. This site offers a cook area and a separate fire pit. Bring your share of wood for the fire pit (I recommend 1 bundle of wood per adult). Remember it will be cold and we will need that fire going on for many hours. Bring your own drink and bring extra if you want to share with others. Don't forget your breakfast for Sunday.
REMEMBER: Please always know that you are responsible for your own safety as for those who accompany you to this or any other hike with us. Your organizer is not responsible in any way if anything would happen to you or your guests. Please take the same precaution you would if hiking alone. By signing up and attending this meetup, you acknowledge that you have read the entire description and agree to the terms given above. safety depends on your good judgment. In other words, your safety is your responsibility.
Your organizer cannot be liable in any way if anything happens to you or your guests (e.g., body injury or even death.) You cannot bring any lawsuits against this meetup organizer/host. Let's just scramble and have some fun.
