Hike at Lower Bristlecone Trail

What to Expect:
Located in Lee Canyon, this beautifully wooded hike is generally an in and back trail. However, we will take a slightly less used trail that shoots off to the west to make this into a 5 mile loop with 814ft of elevation gain. The side trail is a bit steep and has loose soil. Hiking poles may assist with this incline. We will walk at a slower pace and take breaks as needed. Parts of the trail are quite rocky so proper footwear is a must! No scrambling is required on this hike. Event time includes travel to and from the carpool point.

We will meet at the Taco Bell parking lot at 7:30am to carpool. The address is:

If you prefer to drive yourself, plan to meet us at the Lower Bristlecone trail head at 8:15am.

What to Bring:

• At least 2L of water
• Snacks/electrolytes
• Sunscreen/hat
• Proper footgear
• Hiking Poles if preferred

This hike is limited to 20 including the organizer. I ask that if you cannot attend, you change your RSVP to allow others to attend. If this is your first hiking event with us you may be required to complete a waiver before the hike.

EVENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By RSVP’ing to this event and signing this waiver and release of liability, I acknowledge that I voluntarily choose to participate in the above-named event (the “Las Vegas Active Adults 40+ MeetUp Group). I understand that participation may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical activity, equipment use, travel, weather conditions, and other unforeseen hazards.

1. Assumption of Risk:
I am voluntarily participating in the Event and assume all risks associated with my participation, including but not limited to injury, illness, property damage, or death.

2. Release of Liability:
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Las Vegas Active Adults 40+ Meetup Group, its directors, organizers, co-hosts, officers, employees, agents, sponsors, partners, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained while participating in or traveling to/from the Event.

3. Medical Treatment:
I authorize the Organizer to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if needed. I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs incurred.

4. Media Release:
I grant the Organizer the right to take and use photographs, video, and audio recordings of me for promotional, educational, or informational purposes in any medium, without compensation.

5. Compliance with Rules:
I agree to comply with all Event rules, regulations, and instructions from event staff. I understand that failure to follow rules may result in removal from the Event without refund.

6. Indemnification:
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer and all released parties from any claims brought against them as a result of my actions or omissions during the Event.

7. COVID-19 and Communicable Diseases:
I acknowledge the risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses and voluntarily assume such risk. I agree to follow all health and safety protocols in place for the Event.
