2-Day Trip- Morey Peak (LVMC 50) + Mahogany Peak

This is a trip to summit Morey Peak, an LVMC Classic 50 peak in central Nevada, it's nearby slightly taller neighbor, Morey Peak North, which has over 2,000 feet of prominence, and Mahogany Peak, a smaller peak in the same range that is on the Great Basin Peaks List. Both peaks can be hiked from the same trailhead!

The plan is to leave Las Vegas after work on Friday, and camp near Sixmile summit. We'll get an early start on Saturday, as temperatures may be warm. Sunday's hike should be short, allowing us to get back to Las Vegas well before dinner time.

I have hiked Morey Peak (and Morey Peak North) twice before, but Mahogany Peak is new to me, so that part is exploratory.

Total Distance: 9 miles round trip (Sat), 1.5 miles (Sun)
Total Elevation Gain: 3,000' (Sat), 1,150' (Sun)
Altitude: 8,680' - 10,248'
Terrain Description: class 1-2 on Saturday (class 3 for Morey Peak North), class 1 expected on Sunday.
Approximate Hiking Time: 8 hours (Sat), 3 hours (Sun)
