Wow Shahar, this is one of those million dollar questions…!

In a nutshell:
1. Check whether the scope of what you would like to do is not more than a feature, is it a product, or does it really justify a separate company / startup
2. Verify you are solving a real customer problem. Really solving one.
3. Start considering a potential business model
4. Study the market and business environment that your startup will operate in. This is obviously a huge task. Relevant Internet websites are a good starting point. Talking with potential customers is always a good path to take.
5. Continuing on the above, identify what other vendors in this space or in adjacent spaces are doing and how do you differentiate from them
6. Start considering your future Go To Market – How would you take the product to the market, how will you acquire customers, through which channels / at which cost
7. Verify technical and other feasibility
8. Then you have all the lean concepts etc. – Here is a starting point: http://www.xconomy.co...
9. Good luck! Hamazal Holech Im Hatovim smile
