Let's Talk About Jesus
Details
As Jesus rode into Jerusalem amidst the cheers of His followers, the Bible records that “… all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?” (Matthew 21:10). This is a common question that has been asked repeatedly by others in many different facets, such as:
- “Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” (Luke 5:21) – asked by the Pharisees.
- “Who is this that forgiveth sins also?” (Luke 7:49) – the guests at a meal with Him.
- “Who is this, of whom I hear such things?” (Luke 9:9) – King Herod.
- “Who is this Son of man?” (John 12:34) – the people Jesus preached to.
- “Who is this King of glory?” (Psalms 24:10) – A Messianic prophecy.
Your knowledge of the identity of a person sets the tone and determines the quality and value of your relationship with him or her! It is this fact that prompted Jesus to ask His disciples “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” (Matthew 16:13). Many answers were offered, but when Jesus made the question personal to the disciples – “But whom say ye that I am?” (Matthew 16:15), there was silence that was later broken by a singular answer from Peter - “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
This question still faces each of us today and the answer that comes from the bottom of our hearts will be reflected in the quality of the relationship we have (or do not have) with Jesus, and how we value it.
In a season like this, it is worth the time to join us at this meetup to share a wonderful time of fellowship and networking with other Pioneers as we ponder over the answers to this question. Your relationship with Jesus will reach a new height as you get to grips with the correct answer to this question at a personal level and from God’s perspective.
