Buddhist ‘Silent Illumination’ Meditation and Dharma Practice
with the Leeds DharmaMind Buddhist Group
Every Thursday at the Yoga Space, Meanwood, 7 - 9pm
We meet every Thursday for an evening of Meditation and Dharma practice. The evening starts with a 40 minute period of meditation followed by the screening of a short recorded talk from our teacher Aloka. The remainder of the evening is given to informal discussion relating to Buddhist Dharma practice.
The evening starts promptly at 7pm so you will need to arrive in good time, with people usually arriving from 6.30pm. Please use the side entrance of the Yoga Space and not the main entrance. The side entrance is located on the right hand side of the building up an external staircase and through a blue door. You can see the side entrance from the main car park to the right of the building. The evening finishes at 9pm.
Suggested donation: £5/£3
If you would like to attend the evening please book by one of the following methods:
Please note that if it is your first time attending the evening then you will be required to arrive early at 6.30pm so a senior member of the group can instruct you in the meditation practice.
Our group was formed in 2007 by Aloka David Smith who has been a practicing Buddhist for nearly 40 years, of which more than 10 of these years has been as a teacher. He has also published 5 books on practice. The group at present has a number of small local groups covering the UK and Ireland. Members of the group gather once a month in Birmingham for a one day retreat. The DharmaMind Buddhist Group also holds residential retreats at various locations, throughout the year.
