This ride is a great incentive for kids to learn to ride without training wheels! Trailer bikes, trailers, and baby seats are all acceptable. Stay with the group. Do not go ahead or venture off course. Please be sure you and your family's bikes are all in proper working order - working brakes, properly inflated tires, etc. We want everyone to be safe and have an enjoyable experience. • Starting to Shred: A Beginner MTB Ride

    Lake Nox Tower Parking Lot

Aug 31 at Nox! WAIVERS: If you have not yet signed a waiver for the new year, you can now complete one online before the ride. Waivers only have to be completed once per calendar year. here is the link: https://genesisbicycles.com/events/genesis-bicycles-waiver-and-release-pg1077.htm Welcome to our beginner Mountain Bike Ride! Every other Saturday at 9:30 AM we will be riding some of the fun, beginner friendly MTB single-track in the area. Now that the season is well underway we'll aim for 8-10 miles and about 1.5-2 hours for the ride. There will be bail off points though so no worries if this sounds too long for you! This is a beginner ride where we’ll discuss MTB techniques and no one will be dropped. Come out and enjoy the thrill of riding over some rougher terrain! Here are the important things to know: 1.) All Riders must wear a helmet at all times during the ride. 2.) A mountain bike is needed for this ride and front suspension is recommended, though not required. This is a real singletrack ride, not just a trail through the woods. 3.) Make sure that your bike is in good working order; pump up your tires to above the minimum pressure shown on the tire, lube your chain, and make sure your brakes work! 4.) Please bring a spare tube that fits your tires (or a patch/sealant if your bike is tubeless). 5.) Bring water in a bottle or a hydration pack. The rides will take place at the Lake Nockamixon Trails as well as the trails at the Trexler Nature Preserve. The specific location and parking lot will be posted on the meetup at least one week in advance to the ride, so please check back to make sure you know where to meet! This ride does not meet at the shop. Do note that while this is a beginner MTB ride, if you are just starting out cycling I would reccomend going on the 10/10/10 until you are comfortable on your bike. Consider this ride about a 20mi road ride to gauge your fitness for it. Lake Nox: 59, 1 Fink Dr, Ottsville, PA 18942 (Lake Nox Tower Road Parking Lot) Trexler: N Range Utility Rd, Schnecksville, PA 18078
