Here is a summary of what you can expect from this talk: What is Houdini? What can it do? Can it do anything for me? A quick walk through some of the APIS the new Houdini CSS WG has been working on and how to use them, with some live coding sprinkled in But wait! There is more! LeicesterJS Stickers will be up for grabs! Come down and get yourself one! The scheduled start is 7 pm, with food and refreshments at 7:30 pm, followed by networking and general discussion with a scheduled end time of around 8:30 pm. LeicesterJS is back for another tech (and pizza) filled evening. Connect with local developers and listen to talks by industry leaders and expert. This month, we've got Edd Wilson from Impression Digital about SEO and the Javascript Landscape. The rise in Javascript and Google's rendering capability has lead to Javascript frameworks failing in search. • LeicesterJS - Drinks & Social - September

    The Rutland & Derby Arms

LeicesterJS is back - sorta! This month, we're not having our usual meetup and instead are meeting at the Rutland & Derby Arms for drinks and a bit of discussion and socializing - so you can get your Tech fix on our "off" month. This is an official "unofficial" meetup ๐Ÿ˜ I (Josh) won't be there, but there will be plenty of other friendly LeicesterJS regulars there to chat with. There won't be any talks this month, but we'll be back to normal in October. Feel free to come on down and grab a pint (of your choosing) ๐Ÿป Until then, see you in September! If you have any questions about this event, please speak to use on slack (https://bit.ly/leicesterjs-slack) or email me privately at [masked] - and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

  • LeicesterJS - August Meetup - Design & Non-Technical

LeicesterJS is back for another tech (and pizza) filled evening. Connect with local developers and listen to talks by industry leaders and expert. We have two fantastic talks to look forward to this week. First up we have, โ€A mostly non technical talk about building softwareโ€ by Joshua Graham, Host of the podcast Getting Apps Done Listen as Joshua dives into how the ways we currently look for and judge developers (and ourselves!) are wrong and arenโ€™t giving us an accurate picture of the people behind the keyboards. Itโ€™s our journey that makes us unique; a myriad small things that make a person amazing most of which really have very little to do with code. Next we have a talk by Richard Birley, UX/UI Designer & Developer at CloudCall This talk is all about its about breaking up elements and re-usable components into a granular form rather than designing for a page or device from page level and trying to make it all fit. He'll also be diving into the specifics of working with design tools like Figma and how they integrate into a development workflow. But wait! There is more! LeicesterJS Stickers will be up for grabs! Come down and get yourself one! Scheduled start is 7pm, with food and refreshments at 7:30pm, followed by networking and general discussion with a scheduled end time of around 8:30pm. ------------------------------------------- Look forward to an evening of tech talks, networking and of course, pizza.
