What we're about

We currently don't offer any classes and outings due to Covid-19. We hope to resume our activities in the summer of 2021. Join us now and get updates once things are somewhat back to normal. Thanks, and stay safe!

Welcome to Lensflare Photography Group Chicago

We are a photography group based in Chicago organizing photography workshops, classes, and outings. Join us for interesting photography activities from classes in a pro photo studio to photo outings in great Chicago locations to put your gear to work. Our focus is on classes and real hands-on photography experience in the field and hope that you're going to meet some great fellow photographers while we're at it. The idea is to build a community of like-minded Chicago photographic artists of all skill levels who meet on a regular basis and grow their photography experience in the process. Basically the classic idea of a camera club, but with modern tools and techniques.

This group is open to anyone interested in photography and willing to participate in Chicago photography classes, events, workshops, and outings. All activities are held in the beautiful City of Chicago.

Photography Classes, Workshops and Outings with Maximum Impact

Each class or workshop will focus on a very specific photography genre and related techniques, so you can build your photo knowledge one topic at the time. We also have ongoing photo outings, right there in the field, with your camera in your hands and a photo instructor next you.

Since we're not charging a membership fee, photography classes, workshops and outings will cost a small amount to cover the group overhead, rental space and snacks. It will vary in price depending on the topic, gear and potential props or models involved.

Meet Bruno: Full-time Photo Studio Manager, Photographer and Photography Instructor

As most photographers and visual artists, I learned the craft back in high school with 35mm film cameras. After a while, I shot for various local and regional newspapers. Transition to digital: I started out in the modern area by teaching myself Aldus Photostyler, a predecessor to Photoshop, back in 1990 and bought my first digital camera in 1992, a Logitech Fotoman. I use various degrees of digital processing and manipulation: From basic "dodging and burning" to full-blown surrealistic photo illustrations.

My personal work can be seen on Brunoworks (http://www.brunoworks.com). During the day, you can find me at Bauwerks Photography Studio (http://www.bauwerks.com/) in Chicago working as full-time Photographer and Technical Manager/Co-Founder.

We hope to see you soon.
