What we’re about
We are an inclusive group for all women (cis and transgender) and non-binary people in their twenties, thirties and forties. We welcome singles, couples, and poly folk of all backgrounds who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual or queer in any way. Whether you are new to the city, recently out, or just looking to make friends—this group is for you.
We aim to organize a variety of events including social get-togethers, pool nights, capture the flag, brunches, picnics, geocaching, movie night, hiking, biking, etc. and are open to more suggestions!
Additional information:
~~ This meetup group is set on private settings; only members can see pictures or other member’s profiles. Profile pictures must be of you and real first name or nickname.
~~ If you have 3 last minute cancellation, our organizers will automatically move your registration to the waiting list. We believe this will help ensure that priority is given to reliable participants, while still allowing those on the waiting list a fair chance to participate.
~~ If you have 3 no shows you will be removed, so please update your RSVP to NO if you are not able to attend. A “no show” is when you RSVP YES and not show up or not message the organizer.
~~ Please ask people for their pronouns and do your best to not assume another person’s gender. This group aims to be inclusive of transgender and cisgender individuals and respecting one another’s pronouns is an important part of achieving this.
~~ Please be an active member! We know it can be very intimidating to show up to your first meetup; we have all have been in the same situation. However we promise that you will you will meet awesome, loving, and inclusive people and will make connections to other members of Victoria’s queer community. Also, each time you show up, you will meet more people and you will have more fun!
The majority of our meet-ups happen on the unceded traditional territory of the Lekwungen peoples. We acknowledge with respect the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. We are so grateful to be able to host our events on this land and we encourage all of our members to engage in the work of reconciliation and decolonization.
