Impressioning Workshop with Jos Weyers

This is a very special, off-schedule workshop on IMPRESSIONING, a covert entry technique used to generate a working key for a lock given only information obtained by manipulating a *blank key* in a lock. This will be a full, hands-on workshop on this technique. Read below for what you need to bring to the class (we'll supply the locks and key blanks).

Your host for this workshop is special guest Jos Weyers. Coming all the way from Amsterdam, Jos is a world champion at impressioning. His most recent victory was at the Dutch Impressioning Championships (LockCon, 2013) in The Netherlands.

Unlike lockpicking, impressioning creates a fully working key for the lock which can be used to lock and unlock the cylinder at will. With practice, this technique can consistently open a lock in 10-15 minutes (and potentially faster)! Here's a video of Jos impressioning a standard five pin ABUS cylinder in ONE MINUTE during the 2010 German Impressioning Championships:

You WILL need a set of tools to do this technique. A budget set is fine, but better quality tools definitely make the process easier to learn and do. The tools you need, in order of importance:

* Impressioning file (A very fine pippin or round file)
* Key holder (Dedicated tool or a pair of vicegrips)
* Table vise / some method of holding the lock if it is not mounted in a door.
* Magnifier/light source (Very helpful, but not required)

Some links to get an example of commerical impressioning products (shop around for better prices):
