State law designates that all parties must reorganize every two years, at a date and time selected by the State Party. The State Chair put notice in The State News, designating that all counties are to reorganize and hold their county conventions on the 14th in front of their respective County Courthouses.
At this meeting we will:
elect new county officers
select delegates to the state convention in November
You must be a member of the national party (ie signed the pledge either in writing or on the national party's website). You must also, per state law, be a registered voter in your county of residence. This notice applies for all counties, which in our case would be Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
Special note for those in Dorchester County or others reading this who are in unorganized counties. Your county is not currently organized, but it is easy to do. If you are planning on showing up on Saturday, please contact either the Charleston or Dorchester chairs (myself and Jeff Dimit) for instructions. Show up, elect officers, then send in the paperwork we help you with and you are organized! If you make sure that everyone present is a registered voter and a member of the state party (which we can verify for you over the phone), and write down who was elected to each position, then we can get it onto the "official" forms.
