Currently I am in graduate school pursuing my MSW. I took a Social Welfare Policy course in the fall of 2013, taught by a socialist professor. Although I didn’t agree with anything the professor or other students advocated for, I felt challenged to explore my political beliefs and why I subscribe to them, via class discussions and assignments. (I had considered myself conservative, maybe Republican, prior to this.) During this class, as I did more and more research about different types of policies, political views, and the Libertarian Party, I discovered I agreed the most with the idea of minimum government.
