Barnby in the Willows and Beckingham
Details
This is a 7 mile circular route, graded moderate.
We start in the village of Barnby in the Willows near Newark, with a population of just 244 people and surrounded by the River Witham. The village comprises circa 110 houses, the Parish Church of All Saints (13th Century), a village pub, a village hall, a village green and a small playing field.
The walk is very rural over fields, and well trodden farm tracks, taking in the villages of Fenton and Beckingham before returning alongside the River Witham. No refreshment places unfortunately so bring water and snacks and we will find nice places to stop in the two villages.
I have booked a table for Sunday lunch at The Willow Tree a 17th century family run pub (dog friendly) in the heart of the village of Barnby.
Please let me know in the comments if you would like lunch.
£1 subs as normal please.
