Brooke is a fun, goofy and lovably hapless woman. She has a degree in Computer Science, and appears to have it all - job, flat, girlfriend…

But what happens when things go tits up just before your 30th birthday?

She is also a hopeless romantic at heart. Obsessed with finding love like in the Rom-Coms she grew up watching, she never bothered with the science of online dating, but when her girlfriend dumps her shortly before her 30th birthday she decides it’s finally time to give the ‘scientific’ approach a chance. Using her inside knowledge on how to create a successful dating profile she embarks on a series of (unfortunate) dates... soon Brooke's questioning where she went wrong, because she followed the rules didn’t she?

This is "Algorithms", the play. Sadie (its creator, awesome bi activist - you may have met her at BiFest this year) wanted to put a bisexual character centre stage without the associated harmful stereotypes and myths (that we’re greedy, unfaithful, confused, that it’s just a phase or ‘a layover to Gaytown’). She says "I wanted to create a bisexual character whose sexuality was in fact pretty incidental to the story - a ‘universal’ character whose story lay in the complicated business of simply being a human."

Soho Theatre programmed a work in progress performance of this show as part of their 'Soho Rising Festival' which showcases some of the best emerging talent from their Young Company. Algorithms sold out so quickly that a second performance was added, which sold out within 24 hours!

Follow the progress on kickstarter/twitter @AlgorithmsPlay (or likely other online social mediums too), support it and come see it (at one of the two showings in London, or check the kickstarter for others around the country).
