Seven years ago, Yuval Noah Harari was a humble historian at an Israeli university writing a little book about a big subject. "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind", argues our species , Homo Sapiens , came to dominate the world because it is the only animal that can co-operate flexibly in large numbers.

It went in to sell more than a million copies and turned Yuval into a rockstar intellectual.
