Drawing & Painting Class - London Art Classes
The class will be taught by professional artist Nick Malone in his lovely light working studio. The class is mixed ability and everyone is welcome. The class is small and friendly with a maximum of ten students so there is lots of personal attention. If you are a beginner - and lots of our students are - there is a completely non-judgmental atmosphere in which to develop your drawing and painting skills. What we do: One: Practical studio work By far the most important part - your own artwork. Many students choose to keep work at the studio and create and develop their painting and drawing projects over time. The drawing and painting class is small so Nick has time to answer any specific question you might have. Two: Instruction in the basic techniques of painting and drawing Each week there is instruction in one aspect of the techniques of painting and drawing Three: A slide show or short film on contemporary art It's exciting and fun to know what’s going on in the world of contemporary art, and it gives you confidence. London has some of the best art galleries in the world, so we look at current exhibitions to help you make the most of the art scene this great city has to offer. All this is done in a completely accessible way with no pretentious art jargon. The cost of the class is £60 and includes use of all materials and equipment needed for the class. A lunch of fresh baguettes, brie, camembert, grapes and wine is also included (please send us a message if you have any dietary requirements and we'll arrange a similar alternative). If you can't make the whole day it's also possible to come for the morning (11am to 1pm) or afternoon (2pm to 4pm) sessions for £30, just drop us a message to let us know. Simply pay-as-you go on the day. We have other students signing up to the class from our mailing list and website so we will send you a message to confirm your place after you have RSVPed. We're located in a group of studios right in the centre of one of London’s most creative neighbourhoods - New Cross / Deptford. Our nearest station is New Cross which is just a five minute train journey from London Bridge.
