Every Saturday Nikita Kolomnin or Joel Gayle will coach.
1-2pm Coaching (beginners and improvers level only)
From March 2012 a new membership scheme will be introduced. £20 annual membership will give access to a reduced session fee and 10% discount on all the badminton goods.
About the Session: Rules
6 courts, 12 to 3pm (sharp!) in the Science Centre.
Session ends 2:50pm, you can start warming up at 11:50pm. This is due to security closing the building at 9pm and you do not want to be locked up inside the building for the night.
Please pay to the organiser during the session. You name and indication that you paid must be on the list for this session.
You can book up to 2 guests on your name, simply add their names at the 'Have a comment' field? You are responsible for guests if they don't show up.
Amenities: you are welcome.
Changing rooms with drinking fountains are available as well as showers. You have to finish session earlier to take the shower for the reason above.
Shuttles: be courteous.
Feathers will be available, please take ONE at a time and return it after the game if it is still usable. Warm up/exercise with knockers from the box (not new ones from the tube). This is due to soaring cost of feathers and we do not want to play plastics because theysuck are not good. If you leave new settles behind, you will receive a warning with further possibility of being banned altogether.
Extra services: doing this extra bit for you.
You can borrow a racket free of charge at the session. You do not need to let us know, just ask organiser at the session.
Racket stringing service: please leave your racket with any organiser and collect it when you next attend. Costs start at £12 you can choose preferred tension and strings.
Fines: plan ahead.
No-shows will be fined: £4 for the first time, full fee - £8 for failing to turn up for the second time and complete ban for the third time. Fines payable at the next session, otherwise expect to be banned from the club. You can change your RSPV by 5pm on the day of the session which is more than generous (other clubs require 24h notice!).
When you cancel last minute, it gives no change for those on the waiting list to prepare. Also long waiting lists put some players off RSPVing. This means more people can enjoy the session if we all plan a bit in advance.
Preferable means of communication are email [masked] or (in emergency) text message. Emails will be answered on the day, texts immediately. Sometimes it is difficult for us to answer phone calls during the day!
If you have following enquiries, you do NOT need to contact us:
Can I borrow a racket? Yes.
Can I be late? Yes.
Where are you located? Check details of the meetup and click on the map, then use www.tfl.gov.uk (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/).
Otherwise please use these phone numbers:
