My specific philosophical interest developed from my degree in Education and Early Childhood, and from the Masters in Social Policy in which I am now engaged - a case study investigation of pupil well-being in primary school based on Aristotelian ideas of the good life. It is the philosophical and ethical underpinning of social policy, and ways in which what I have learned can be put to practical use, that I am now anxious to explore with like-minded people.
I am 56 and was a stay-at-home mother for 20 years many of which I spent volunteering in local primary schools. I became fascinated in the interface between education policy and practice and returned to university to learn more about this.
So far so very good!
