Come and see beautifully restored steam engines in a warm and dry museum that welcomes photographers. Some of the engines are powered up at weekends under the loving care of volunteers. There are no restrictions on use of flash (watch out for reflections though), and tripods (just be aware of other visitors to the museum).
It is a great opportunity to get some abstract shots as well as of the gleaming machinery.
We will meet at 11.00 am at the main entrance. After a couple of hours at the museum those who want to can go to a local pub for lunch-there are a number to choose from nearby which overlook the River Thames.
There is a small car park at the museum. Train travel is by overground from Waterloo/Clapham Junction to Kew Bridge Station which is close to the museum. It is possible to go to Kew Gardens Station on the District and London Overground lines. There are buses that go past the museum.
