Comedy - new material night, Gem Bar, soho

Let's go to the new materials night The Comedy Biscuit in Soho run by vegan Abigail. Tickets are normally £5 each but she's doing us a 2 for 1 deal, so (assuming we have even numbers) we'll only pay £2.50 each - and we even get free vegan biscuits!

The show runs from 8pm to 10pm but we'll gather in the bar from 6/6.30pm and those who want to can pop to get some food from 6.30pm to 7.30pm (we'll decide where to eat on the night - maybe Maoz).

Line up to be announced - watch this space! See The Comedy Biscuit on Facebook.

Cheers

Helen

The American guy was good, the last guy was plan and simply rude and had no gags, the others average. Well done Abi for running the event and also for the delicious biscuits. Was good catching up with familiar faces

Hhhmmm 'comedy'....I'd say more Dramady!! :P Poor Abi! Not to worry though; 2 funny Aussies & 1 funny American made up for...the 1st & last! :P And the biscuits were yummy! It wasn't a total disaster! All the best, Jess :) x

We'll meet in Gem bar from 6.30pm. Comedy is downstairs in the basement and doors open at 7.15pm so we'll be in the basement from then onwards. Remember no guarantee your place will be saved if you don't show up by 7pm, or at least text me by 7pm. thanks, H.

Hi Helen, can you confirm times for tonight as these seem to be different to the ones in the description. If these are correct, will we still have time for Maoz beforehand? I need to eat. ;-)

if anyone wants a stella artois for a quid add to this comment staing how many you want - if there are five (or multiples of five)your wish will be Abi's command! if not I guess you'll just have to pay normal price. to get the deal you need to say so here by 5pm Wednesday:

If you are a yes it's vital that you update your reply if you can no longer go as I need exact numbers for Abi so she can save us seats and reserve our tickets. She's one of us so we really don't want her to be out of pocket if she turns other people away! As the meetup time is 6.30pm we will not reseve any tickets or seats past 7pm. If you are running later than 7pm please text me by 7pm on[masked] to let me know you are still on your way otherwise your place will be freed up.

WARNING: this material is likely to be rude, have excessive swearing and have subject matter that some people may find offensive and distasteful. Many comedians like to push boundaries generally and many use new material nights to work out what they can and can't get away with saying! To those who are easily offended - you have been warned! Having said that - for those who aren't so easily offended it should be a cracking night!

Sol Bernstein can no longer do tomorrow's show but Shaun Mauss is performing instead and he is AWESOME. He's torn up the US on Conon and Jimmy Kimmel and I can't wait!

    See you tomorrow everyone!

Hey guys! I'm really excited about this week's show- I'm gonna be baking a lot of cookies.

The bar are also going to be doing a deal where you can get a bucket of 5 Stella Artois beers for £5 (vegan). They have to how many to put aside beforehand though, so if you could let me know if you're interested. Line up includes two of my all time favourite comedians and is:

MC DAMIEN CLARK (The Apprentice: You're Fired and wrote and co-starred in I Dare Ya!)

PRINCE ABDI (Comedy Central's The World Stands Up, ITV's Show Me THe Funny and a regular at Jongleurs and The Comedy Store)

TREVOR COOK (Sydney Comic of the Year and has toured with the likes of Jimeoin, Ben Elton and David Strassman)

SOL BERNSTEIN (He's performed all over the world at venues including The London Palladium, New York's Carnegie Hall, The Paris Olympia, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, and Scunthorpe Baths)

LIAM WILLIAMS (Time Out's "One to watch")

Let me know if you need any more info!

Yes, it was a great night, but please note that the venue has limited capacity. I've updated the details, so the map should be correct now. http://www.meetup.com/LondonVegan/venue/1368944/?fromMV=yes

P.S. It's the name of the venue, as part of the address, which makes all the difference; as Messup fails to send that snippet of info to Google Maps.

We went along on the 19th June, it was good fun! Definitely recommend it. Please note : not all biscuits are vegan when we were there. Please check with Abi, the organiser, before you dig in! :). Her homemade vegan ones were delish!

    July 2, 2013

    • Helen

The vegan biscuits will be labelled as vegan.
