What's your state of veganness (i.e. how vegan are you)?

I am now finally sticking to veganism after years of being a half-arsed vegetarian/vegan. Still not that familiar with what kinds of alcohol are vegan though. Getting there!

Favourite foods?

cake + baked goods, Chinese food (esp. tofu in black bean sauce!) Mexican food, tropical fruits, cocktails, Asian food in general

Favourite London restaurants?

I love tibits, it's amazing. Love love love the food & the decor!! Hope to try some more with people met on meet ups!

What is the most common or silliest thing people ask you about not eating meat?

'how do you do it? I could never live without my steak/bacon sandwiches' and I'm like 'I never liked those things anyway!' the single most dumb thing someone said was that I was still killing animals because I step on ants whilst walking down the street.

What do you hope to get by coming to meetups?

I like vegan food & don't feel deprived but I find being vegan inconvenient, particularly whilst travelling and in social situations and sometimes I feel tempted to slip back into old habits because it's the easy thing to do. I hope that meeting more vegans will help me keep the motivation to stick to it and feel more normal!

I'm a North London based vegan who loves to eat!

What Samantha is saying about this Meetup Group

Joining the london vegan meet up has been one of the best things I've done. It has been great to meet other vegans, I've had lots of fun & eaten nice food & I've been better motivated to make a commitment to veganism since joining
