Hi, thanks for visiting!
We meet monthly on the third Thursday of every month in London.
I'd like to welcome this month's speaker at the London Web Meet-up on Thursday 20th November - Camille Baldock (https://twitter.com/camille_). Camille is an awesome speaker as well as a freelance software engineer by day. She wrote her first line of code over ten years ago and currently works for GDS (Government Digital Service). By night, she coaches junior developers and is a 3D printing enthusiast. Her favourite challenges are scalability and good API craftsmanship.
Designing Hypermedia APIs
In this talk, Camille will walk through several standards of hypermedia APIs, including HAL, JSON-API, HYDRA and various combinations of those standards with real-life examples. We will go over their strengths and weaknesses and what situations each of those standards can be of most use. She will finally discuss how to drive transition from an existing RESTful API to using those standards.
NOTE: We'll be meeting from 7:30pm and kicking off the sessions at 7:45pm which leaves plenty of time to have a drink and a chat in the bar afterwards.
