A special event comes to the London Writer's Cafe!

Come along to hear talks from three successfully published authors; Sue Moorcroft, Karen Mahoney and Leigh Russell. We'll also have an fiction editor from HarperCollins UK followed by a panel discussion of Q&As from the audience.
This event aims to unveil some of the most common myths around getting published and tips from those who have made it

A bit more about our guest authors:
Sue Moorcroft (http://www.suemoorcroft.com/)
In her own words: I'm a writer. I spend most of the week - and part of the weekend, and also some evenings - writing, mainly romantic fiction. The family are used to me and no-one ever suggests I get A Proper Job.

Karen Mahoney (http://kazmahoney.com/)
In her own words: I write mostly for young adults, but have a number of projects underway and am always looking to challenge myself with new things. Visit the Books section to learn more about my forthcoming publications and works in progress. My first YA novel, The Iron Witch, will be published in the US in February 2011 and in Australia, March 2011.

Leigh Russell (http://leighrussell.blogspot.com/)
CUT SHORT, her first novel, has broken sales records in bookshops around the UK. A schedule of her other appearances can be found on her publisher's website.
In her own words: You may have heard me interviewed on one of many BBC Radio stations, or seen me featured or quoted in a newspaper. I am a member of the Curzon Group and post regularly on their blog. ROAD CLOSED, the second in the series, will be published in June 2010.

Laura Deacon, Fiction Editor
We'll also have Laura Deacon, editor at Blue Door Books (http://www.harpercollins.co.uk/about-harpercollins/Imprints/blue-door/Pages/Blue-Door.aspx), talking about the submission and publishing process. She'll also be there to answer questions from guests from an editorial perspective.

Spaces will be capped at 40 people so please RSVP early.
The normal meetup time has changed to 6:30 so we have enough time to get through the talks and get to question time. As a courtesy to the speakers, please be on time.

Please feel free to invite friends to this meetup and share the event on your social networks, if you have them :)

Active members of LWC will be given first priority. A £6.50 charge for this event will be to cover costs of the speakers attending. Please pay by PayPal when you RSVP or email me that you'd rather pay on the night in cash.

Any questions, please get in touch by email. Hopefully, this event will be just as successful as the last one!

Location and direction details:
