Creating Writing Intensive

Let's try something different....

In an effort to stay hip and never get tired, LWC is trying out some new premises and it's in West London (see event details above).

And with a shiny new venue comes a slightly altered format. So prepare yourselves for a more intensive version of our East London nights.

There are still enough places for 25 members to attend but I'll only be booking in only FOUR readers (early birds get the fattest worms) and giving each one a 30 minute slot. With more time, you can use your slot to read, ask questions and discuss any part of your work.

If you'd like to read please post a comment below and I'll confirm a few days before. And if you are confirmed to read, please lock it into your diary. Please bring extra copies for other members so you get lots of notes to pour over afterwards!

As usual, once stories have been read and thoroughly dissected (kidding) we'll adjourn to the bar for a bit of quality social time.

Costs: £5 per session; please pay by PayPal when you RSVP.

Please note: no refunds can be given unless the event is cancelled so please check your diary before you book in.

Directions: The Temperance is just a short walk from Baker Street or Marleybone Stations. 74-76 York Street, London. W1H 1QN

Hi Frank, yeah, I think that's it. I was up early and went through all the emails and found it. So all I have to think about now is which horror story do I send? Ah, the eternal question. So, we won't see you next week. Okay, next time, see you then, then...

Hi Lisa... I was going to send off a short story to the competition I saw offered up the other day, that you forwarded, but for the life of me I can't find the relevant email you sent. Do you know what I'm talking about? If you do, could you send me the info again please.

The great advantage of being given a copy ms is that people can then write their feedback without anyone knowing that it came from them. It's not that people are shy, many times it's just that they don't want to feel they are hogging the limelight which of course does not bother me, I'm shameless! :-)

Also it might be a good idea for those that don't have a copy to make some notes and pass them to the writer in question - that is if they want to.

Finally a plug for my blogettes in the Writers' Toolbox. These are tips on different writing techniques and is an ongoing project. Any who wishes to add any is welcome to as long as they create a separate subject thread by clicking on the Start a New Discussion link.

Once again an excellent session. The feedback I got was to the point and very useful for my rewrite.

Enjoyed the other stories and I think we all learn by not only getting feedback but giving feedback to others.

By giving feedback we put ourselves into the correct mindset to write effectively.

Hi, I would really like to read at this. I am in a foreign country at the moment and my Paypal account won't let me log in properly. Have no idea why. Is it possible for me to still get a spot as a reader and then pay you when I get back to London (10/2)?
