If you'd like to exchange your full manuscript with another for more detailed feedback then this session is most certainly for you.
In this interactive workshop, we'll run through the different levels of editorial feedback, how to manage the beta reading process and how to give good feedback to one another. I'd like everyone to be able to come away from this workshop with a good understanding of how to read, analyse and critic someone else's work in the same way that an editor would do. Giving constructive, actionable feedback doesn't come naturally to all writers and it's important to me that this exchange is a positive experience for all involved.
Once we've gone through how to critic then you'll have the opportunity to meet everyone who is looking to swap their work and find the right beta reader for you.
For this event, I'd like everyone to prepare a single A4 sheet about their book to be sent to me before this workshop. It will help with matching everyone who attends as I don't want anyone to miss out unless there's a very good reason!
Could you prepare the sheet with your name, genre, total word length, draft number (1st, 2nd, 8th, 33rd etc) and a blurb that you'd expect to read on the back of your book by Tuesday, November 14th. Please make sure this all very clearly marked out on the sheet before you send it to me via our admin email address.
This session is for those with at least a first draft of a full-length novels (75,000 words or over).
Costs: £20.00, please follow the steps to pay via PayPal when you RSVP.
NOTE: Refunds will only be provided if the meetup is cancelled by admin, no exceptions, and in the rare event of speakers cancelling, we reserve the right to provide an alternative but equivalent speaker.
