Hello everyone,

If you're preparing to submit your novel to agents and publishers, there are things you need to know to improve your chances of success.

This 3-hr intensive workshop led by me will offer advice and guidance to aspiring authors on how to best present their novels for publication to agents and indie publishers.

I'll give advice and examples on perfecting your pitch, finding the right agent for your book, writing a brilliant cover letter and readying yourself for rejection (sorry) without losing hope.

This workshop brings together almost nine years of the advice given in all of the talks that I've organised with agents, publishers, editors and authors for London Writers' Cafe. I've also worked in publishing for the last fifteen years so there's that too.

This workshop from 12pm-3pm is based on the full day 'How to Impress A Publisher' course I teach for CityLit.

We will cover:
- Questions to ask yourself before you start sending out your work
- How do you know you're ready to submit to publishers and agents?
- Where are all the agents hiding?
- Navigating the submission process - and how to hold your nerve
- Questions to ask when meeting with agents (or publishers)
- Which publishers allow direct submissions - and how to approach them

Cheers, Lisa
