Hello and Happy 2015!
We are delighted to kick off the new year with a meetup featuring two fantastic speakers Genevieve Bell and Adam Greenfield, who will share their critical work and thinking around artificial intelligence, robots, smart cities and their long term implications on culture and society.
Genevieve Bell (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/16/technology/intels-sharp-eyed-social-scientist.html?_r=0) is an Australian anthropologist based in US, best known for her work at the intersection of cultural practice and technology development. She is currently a Vice President and Fellow at Intel where she directs the company’s Corporate Sensing & Insights group. Lately, she has spent a lot of time writing and speaking about our new, mediated relationships with connected devices and robots.
Adam Greenfield (http://www.theguardian.com/profile/adam-greenfield) is a writer and urbanist, and a senior research fellow at the London School of Economics. He is the author of the groundbreaking book 'Everyware: The dawning age of ubiquitous computing' , the pamphlet Urban Computing and its Discontents, and most recently "Against the smart city (http://foryoutou.se/againstthesmartcity)".
Hope to see you all there!
