How did you get into system administration?

This is a harder question, it was one of those things that just... clicked. I started as a help desk lackie at a small software company, and quickly rose in the ranks (and I mean quick, I was on the desk for ~3 months). I just took to unix/linux administration like a duck to water. The rest is history. I do miss the good old days of rolling kernels, tweaking everything to the nth degree. Look at me I am rambling.

I have been a *nix administrator for > 10 years. I love most things opensource.
