Bluff Trail & Playa del Rey

Thursday night hikes are FLAT and between[masked] miles. These hikes are a great way to join a community of friendly, fun people who like to be outside with other friendly, fun people.

TIME: 6:30 to 8:30 PM

DETAILS: From the parking area on Jefferson Blvd, immediately west of Lincoln Blvd. we will walk along the Ballona Freshwater marsh along Lincoln and turn right onto Bluff Road Trail. We'll walk along the rolling, tree-lined streets of Playa Del Rey then head back the same way to the start.

BRING: water, comfortable shoes.

DINNER: Alejo's, San Sai, or Beach Pizza

There are now FIVE beginner hikes WEST of Sepulveda. (Baldwin Hills and Kenneth Hahn have been replaced with Bluff Trail/Playa Del Rey and this hike.)

FIVE HIKES ALL FLAT repeat every five weeks:

1) Main Street, Pier, and Beach Walk Santa Monica

2) Venice Canals (limit 45 due to popularity of this hike)

3) LMU/Westchester

4) Bluff Trail/Playa del Rey

5) Playa Vista Trail

Where is a good place to park?

I was asking about last Thursday's hike on bluff trail. I drive west on Jefferson and didn't see any parking near Lincoln. I missed the hike since I was running late and couldn't find quick parking.

Okay. Hopefully there can be a five minute grace period in the future because traffic can be difficult.

This 4.5 mile route is mostly flat. There is on small hill going up Bluff Trail. No rain is scheduled all week so it should be a beautiful night for a hike.

Linda, I didn't know we could "schedule" rain. If so, can you please schedule rain every day between midnight and 3am? We really need it...

Do I need to bring a flash light / headlamp at all or is everything lit well enough? Thank you!

The beginning and end of the hike are on the Ballona Wetlands dirt trail which is not lit..about 3/10 mile each way
