The Topanga Symphony will perform Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 and other selections. The work is one of the most popular violin concertos in the repertory. It continues to be performed and recorded by many violinists and is arguably Bruch's most famous composition, with his Kol Nidrei being the other leading candidate for that distinction.
The Topanga Symphony was founded in the summer of 1982 and has since presented a regular program of free concerts of high quality. Since its inception, the Music Director and Conductor of the Topanga Symphony has been Jerome Kessler. He is also director of the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra and I Cellisti. A cellist and composer, he has appeared as conductor, soloist and in chamber music and orchestral events in all four corners of the United States, and in between.
Plentiful free parking. Attire is casual.
