Classical Revolution: LA hosts its 4th Battle of the Bands! Serious chamber ensembles of all stripes will crowd into the charming dive bar for heated competition and camaraderie. The audience votes and a new royal court of the best "classical bar musicians" will be crowned.

The competition will take place during Happy Hour so be sure to take advantage of the drink specials. The Silverlake Lounge does not take reservations. Seating is first come first served. It is important to be punctual. There is no cover and no drink minimum. The bar only accepts cash. This is a dive bar--casual attire is fine. Free parking onsite. Classical Revolution hosts Happy Hours at the Silverlake Lounge are on the first Saturday of every month.

It was fun and different. I'm not sure I'd attend this event in the future, though. It says 96 attended...where were they? I counted about 10?

Maybe I was unaware because there wasn't a specified place for "Meetup" folks to meet? It was most def crowded!! I guess the "60 peeps" were unable to make their way to our table in front? Nonetheless, it was a lovely event and I completely agree "music...we should preserve". Especially in that genre :)

This is the only classical venue in Southern California which hasn't complained about LA Free Concerts hogging all of the free seats. So let's PILE INTO THIS JOINT AS IF THEY'RE GIVING AWAY GOVERNMENT CELLPHONES!

Hi Everyone, you can warm up your classical music appetite this weekend on Sunday at The Marina Venice Yacht Club with an outrageously great String Quartet: http://www.meetup.com/Marina-Venice-Yacht-Club-Chamber-Music-Series-Concert

Yes! Two of my favorite things: sailing and classical music. With all the money you people save going to free concerts you should check this out. Which reminds me, Geoffrey-every self-respecting orchestra has a free community concert... ;-)

Well, we had quite a success. If you want some of the best musicians in town with food and drinks included, it is worth paying a bit.

May 4 is reserved for the Anniversary Party. As it looks like the party will be postponed, this event will probably be emailed out after some cleanup.
